Co-Owner, Lighthouse Lounge

Sue graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in agriculture, which set the tone for the rest of her life: hands-on. She was fortunate to receive an internship with then-Congressman Leon Panetta in Washington DC. Out of college, she worked for Hunt-Wesson as a field rep for tomato harvest. After that, she worked for two seasons with the California State Fair managing the VIP program, consisting of 34 major events in 18 days. From there, she co-owned & ran an agricultural trucking company for ten years in Woodland, California, performing everything from driving to dispatch to maintenance. She still maintains her CDL… just in case.

Sue started her real estate career with Coldwell Banker in 1999, and launched her brokerage, Terra Venture Real Estate, in 2002, transforming to RE/MAX Crossroads in 2012, where she devotes her time. She began investing in real estate in 1999, adding to her portfolio over time. She has listed and sold numerous investment properties for clients over her career, including many commercial properties.

In addition to real estate, Sue is co-owner of the Lighthouse Lounge, handling everything from accounting to staffing. The Lighthouse prides itself in having excellent food, live music and an incredible alcohol selection.

Sue believes strongly in the renovation of Ogden, starting with her home in the Jefferson Historic District, which she built to fit in the neighborhood in 2004, which was also in the Parade of Homes. In May 2006, she purchased the Heber Scowcroft Mansion at 24th & Monroe and moved her entire office from Historic 25th Street. The mansion is a National, State and Local Landmark and Sue treasures the building’s history. She is a published author, releasing “Ogden’s Trolley District” with co-author Shalae Larsen.

Currently, she stays active with the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber Spikers, Women in Business, Honorary Commander for the 388th MXS Maintenance Squadron, Eccles Art Center Board, Jefferson Avenue Neighborhood Watch, Zeta Tau Alpha, Ogden City Landmarks Commissioner, Junior League of Ogden Past-President & Sustainer, and the Historic 25th Street Association. Golf tops the list of Sue’s hobbies, with cooking and reading coming in next. Traveling to new places is a high priority!
